On a guided tour, i.e. escorted coach tour, you will travel comfortably in a group led by a professional English-speaking tour escort (tour leader). Depending on the tour, you will travel exclusively by private coach or by coach, rail and overnight ferry.
There is a maximum of 31 guests on guided tours in the Nordics and 26 guests in the Baltics.
All guided tours are accompanied by an experienced English-speaking tour escort. Information is provided in English on our Nordic tours. The guided Baltic tours might be in both English and German if German-speaking customers are booked on that departure. The tour escort will repeat all information in both languages.
The tour escort will meet you in the hotel lobby on the first evening for a welcome meeting.
Nordics:
Airport transfer is not included. Information on how to get from the airport to your hotel using public transport or taxi will be provided with the travel documents.
While we also offer private airport transfers in the bigger cities, we do not necessarily recommend them for most customers, as the public transport options are easy to use and a much better value for the money.
Please be aware that certain airlines offer cheaper flights to more remote airports (different from the main city airports), even though the destinations may be advertised as ‘Oslo’, ‘Stockholm’, etc. These airports are situated considerably further away from the cities, with fewer connecting transport options. If you are not travelling through the main airport, please let us know and we will advise you on how to best get to the city centre.
Baltics:
Arrival and departure transfers by car, taxi or bus between the local airport listed in the tour itinerary and your hotel are included in the price of the guided tour. Transfers will correspond with your arrival and departure flights. A representative will meet you at the airport and show you to the transfer vehicle.
If your arrival time changes due to a flight delay or other reason, please let us know as soon as possible so we can do our best to assist you. If we are not informed in advance, we may be unable to provide the scheduled transfer. We regret that no refund can be given for unused services.
Guided sightseeing excursions are included in the programme for escorted coach tours. These will give you a good overview of the city or town and introduce you to its major points of interest. The contents of the sightseeing tours will vary depending on the tour and location: some will be conducted on foot, others by coach, and they may be led by the tour escort or a local city guide. Entrance fees to museums and other attractions may or may not be included. Please refer to the ‘services included’ section near the bottom of each tour page for further details.
Nordics:
Breakfast is included for the entire tour. Days on which lunch and/or dinner are included are indicated in the itinerary as well as under ‘services included’ for each tour. These meals may be either buffet style or set menus. Beverages are not included in the tour price and must be paid for on the spot, unless mentioned otherwise.
Baltics:
Breakfast is included for the entire tour.
Please inform us in advance if you have any special dietary requirements.
Hotel breakfast buffets have a large selection with plenty of vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free options. Whenever other meals are included, hotels and other suppliers must be informed in advance – otherwise we cannot guarantee that they will be able to accommodate you.
The best way to inform us about any special dietary requirements is to add a comment in the ‘Please tell us’ section in Step 2 of the booking process (‘Extras’).

For guided tours, each person may bring one piece of luggage plus one carry-on item. Hand luggage must be stowed on the overhead shelf. As a precaution against theft, we strongly recommend the use of hard-shell suitcases and a lock.
Luggage handling is not included in the tour price.
For some Nordic tours, luggage handling is included for those stretches that involve overnight cruise ferries (see day-by-day itinerary for details).
Due to security regulations, passengers are required to collect and deliver their own luggage at airports.
It is not possible to join only parts of an escorted coach tour.
However, it is possible to add experiences in certain locations as well as extra nights before and/or after the tour. You can also combine a guided tour with one of our self-guided or self-drive tours.

For guided tours in the Nordics, the minimum participation age is 12. Children between the ages of 12-18 must be accompanied by an adult (no child discount).
On the Baltic tours, 1 child up to 12 years of age will receive a 50% discount (when sharing a room with 2 adults; a second child pays full price). While there is no minimum age, these tours are not recommended for families with young children.
The travel documents will be sent by e-mail approximately one month before your tour. For last-minute bookings, they will be sent as soon as possible after receipt of full payment. You will receive a detailed itinerary and a travel voucher for the complete escorted coach tour. This is your proof of payment and must be presented to the tour escort.
If any additional services were booked, you will receive separate travel vouchers/e-tickets to present directly to those service providers.
