Customising your tour

Although our tours are designed by local travel experts to optimise the time in each location, we realise that travel is not one-size-fits-all. This is why most of our tours come with built-in customisation options, such as the possibility to choose your start location, add extra nights and experiences, extend the tour to include more destinations – and even combine multiple tours.

Frequently asked questions

Most of our self-guided and partly guided tours are customisable and designed with flexibility in mind. You can start most tours on any date you want and choose from multiple possible start locations. You can also add extra nights and experiences.

It is not possible to amend the itinerary of the escorted coach tours.

Other possibilities include combining tours (either complete or partial tours).

If you wish to add something yourself that is outside our usual offerings, we are happy to add a gap in the itinerary to accommodate this.

Extra nights are bookable for most locations included in our self-guided, self-drive and partly guided package tours. Extra nights can be added to our escorted coach tours immediately before/after the tour only.

When booking an additional night at the beginning of the tour, you should enter your actual arrival date as the first day of travel (the booking summary will show the dates).

Extra nights can be added in Step 2 of the booking process (‘Extras’). Open the relevant day by clicking on ‘View details’. The ‘Add extra nights’ option is found below the day’s itinerary and above the optional experiences. If multiple overnights in the same location are included as part of the tour, it is found on the last overnight in that location.

If your tour has already been confirmed, you can add extra nights before the start or after the end of the tour before the final payment due date by sending an e-mail to info@authentic-scandinavia.com.

There will be a EUR 30 fee for adding extra nights and/or overnight experiences in the middle of the tour for each service that needs to be amended. The amendment fee does not apply to extra nights added before the start or after the end of the tour.

It is possible to remove some of the overnights included in most of our self-guided tours, but not for our guided tours.

However, it is not possible to remove nights yourself during the booking process. If you wish to exclude any overnight stays, please specify this when submitting your booking request on our website (in the ‘Please tell us’ section in Step 2 of the booking process). The tour price will be reduced based on the price of an extra night in that location; we will adjust the itinerary and total price manually.

Kindly note that it is only possible to remove overnights on longer tours. For shorter tours including only 3 overnights, no nights can be removed.

If you are unsure about the price reduction, please contact us through the request form during the online booking process or get in touch with one of our travel specialists. 

It is possible to combine two or more of our tours into one longer tour.

To avoid having to go through the booking process several times, we recommend that you only book one of the tours online and then specify the details of the other tour(s) in the ‘Please tell us’ section in Step 2 of the booking process (‘Extras’). Please include the tour name, tour category (Silver, Gold or Platinum), room type, start location and date. 

To avoid the need for an additional deposit payment, we recommend booking the more expensive of the selected tours through our website. 

We offer a 5% discount on the lowest priced tour when combining two or more tours.

Most of the time it is possible to take parts of different tours and combine them into one tailor-made tour (not possible with escorted coach tours).

Please note that you may be asked to pay a fee of EUR 100, depending on the level of customisation required. This fee serves as downpayment and is non-refundable, should you decide not to proceed with your booking.

Thanks to our extensive customisation options and number of destinations that we offer, we can accommodate most requests for a tailor-made itinerary. Please note, however, that the requested itinerary must be comprised of services and service providers that we already work with. Furthermore, we do not offer itineraries that consist of transport and/or experiences only.
