Snowshoe walk and ice fishing with husky

Combine a snowshoe hike through the Arctic forest with an ice fishing activity and outdoor lunch – all while accompanied by an eager canine companion!

This snowshoe trek to a wilderness camp on a lake leads through quiet pine forests surrounded by mountains, with a total distance of about 2.5 km, including a stop at a scenic viewpoint. A husky will be your helper during the trek, pulling some of the equipment with a sled. The walk is not demanding; it usually takes less than 30 minutes to reach the camp. Your guide will help you set up the fishing equipment when you reach the small lake, which has excellent fish stock. If you are lucky, you will have freshly caught Arctic char for lunch! Food is prepared over an open fire inside a traditional Sami lavvu – either freshly caught fish or food brought along to grill (just in case). Local wildlife such as hare, fox, moose and birds may also be seen in the area, offering plenty of chances for photography.
