Sami & Reindeer Experience with Dinner

Meet the indigenous Sami people and their reindeers. During this 5-hours activity you will learn about their history and folklore.

Thousands of years ago, the Barents and Kirkenes region were populated by the Sami indigenous people. Many still live in Norway and practice reindeer herding. In Kirkenes municipality there are 10,000 reindeer, equaling the human population in the same area! This 5-hours journey led by Sami artist John Henrik Mienna begins by meeting and feeding the reindeers, while learning more about the Sami indigenous culture. Afterwards you will go to the Låven Restaurant at the Snowhotel. Here you will enjoy a delicious 3-course dinner including a traditional Sami reindeer dish. Before returning to your hotel, you will have the chance to visit the ice bar.
