Step into a world of ice and sea! Discover with the Polar Icebreaker cruise the raw beauty of the frozen Bothnian Sea in Lapland. Swim in the icy water and enjoy a 2-course lunch onboard the ship.
The Polar Icebreaker takes you on a 3-hour cruise through the frozen Bothnian Sea. Enjoy a lively onboard atmosphere as you cruise through icy waters.
During the cruise you will experience the immense ice breaking of the vessel, listen to the sound of the cracking ice and watch crushed ice blocks rise from the icebreaker hull letting dark water splash out. In winter, the icebreaker makes a pool free of ice allowing you to take a swim in the dark icy water in a floatation survival suit.
Onboard you can take a tour all the way down from the engine rooms and up to Captain’s bridge. There are multilingual guides onboard as well as an audio-guide available in 16 languages. You can also visit the cinema where a 12-minute film is running non-stop during the entire cruise about the icebreaker. A 3-course Nordic-style lunch will be served in the ship’s cosy cafeteria.
Before leaving the ship, the captain will present the Cruise & Swim certificate to everyone as a memorable gift.

Please note that the Icebreaker departure terminal is in Swedish Lapland, approximately 40 kilometres from the Finnish border. A valid ID must be brought on the tour.
