Discover the art of ice sculpting in Rovaniemi and create your own icy masterpiece. During this hands-on experience, you will learn about the materials, techniques, and creativity behind the Arctic SnowHotel’s unique ice artworks.
Your experience begins with a visit to the ice storage facilities, where the large blocks of ice used to build the SnowHotel and create its sculptures are kept. Powered by solar energy, the storage facilities house the raw materials that form the foundation of the hotel each winter. Along the way, you will learn how the SnowHotel is built and gain insight into the work of the artists who create its ice art.
Next, it is time to start sculpting. You will receive your own block of ice, and your guide will introduce you to the tools and basic techniques of ice sculpting. Then, you can let your creativity take over as you carve your own design. Selected sculptures may be displayed in the SnowHotel.
