Havila shore excursion from Kirkenes: Join this exciting husky sled ride through the magical Artic landscape and experience the real feeling of wilderness thanks to the power of your new furry companions.
From the quay in Kirkenes, the bus will take you to the base to meet the beautiful Alaskan Huskies who will lead you on this five-kilometere dog-sledding round trip.
There, you will put on warm outdoor clothing – snow overalls, shoes, gloves and hats will be provided.
Then it’s time to meet the dogs! The huskies are harnessed to your sledge, eagerly waiting to transport you across the frozen landscape to which they are acclimated.
There will be two passengers per sledge, with each sledge travelling with its own “musher” (guide). Enjoy the ride as you glide on the white snow. In the midwinter, you will experience the starry skies until spring offers you a glimpse of the characteristic Arctic light.
In the yard, after the ride, you will also have the unique opportunity of meeting all 180 huskies and cuddle with both adult dogs and friendly puppies.
At the end of the trip, you will gather at the restaurant for snacks and hot drinks before taking the bus back to your Havila Voyage ship.
