6: Snowmobiling under the Polar sky

Havila shore excursion from Kjøllefjord: Join this exciting snowmobile trip and discover the beauty of the Arctic landscape as it is lit up by low light and with some luck the magical aurora.

After meeting your guide in the fishing village of Kjøllefjord and putting on your snowmobile suit, the bus takes you to your snowmobile. There, you will be provided with the necessary safety instructions.

You drive your own snowmobile, and along the way, the guide will tell you stories about the people and animals living in the Arctic and about the landscape and climate. You will also learn about the Sámi people, about their life and culture.

Experience the snow-covered valleys, the fresh winter air and, if you are lucky, the northern lights in the clear, starry sky. In spring, enjoy the pastel coloured sky shedding soft tones on the barren landscape.

Your trip will end as you reach Mehamn, the northernmost port during your cruise. There, you will rejoin your Havila Voyage ship.
