This hike of a total of 220 meter elevation offers you the perfect opportunity to both enjoy fantastic views and learn about the lifestyle in the farms by the Hjørundfjorden.
In the past, because village farms where very small, cows were brought to surrounding areas and in the mountain for grazing.
Every morning and evening, they had to return to the shelter in the mountains for milking and small houses were build especially for the cowherds. Women then had to go hike back down, carrying the milk on their shoulders.
The itinerary of the hike allows you to visit two farms, explore on your own, and taste local foods during a coffee break at one of the farms.

Requirements and clothing: Average fitness level is necessary. Please wear warm clothes (layers) including a windproof jacket/trousers and good hiking shoes. We recommend bringing a backpack with water bottle, extra clothing, camera and sunglasses.
