Fjord tour & whale watching in Alta

Here is your chance to observe whales in their natural habitat and explore the majestic fjords of northern Norway at the same time!

During winter, humpback whales and orcas gather in the herring-rich fjords of northern Norway to feed. This tour provides the chance to see them in their natural environment while surrounded by great fjord views, mountains and local wildlife.

To increase the chances of sightings, the starting point is adjusted according to the whales’ most recent locations, which may require up to an hour’s drive to the harbour. Once on the water, the boat (RIB) heads into the fjords in search of the whales. Engines are turned off when approaching them to reduce disturbance. The animals are often curious and may choose to swim near the boat. Back at the harbour, hot drinks and light snacks are offered.
