Surrounded by five picturesque lakes, Trakai is best known for its beautiful 14th-century island castle, set in the middle of Lake Galvė. Today, the castle is part of the Trakai History Museum (entrance included) and offers great views and insight into Lithuania’s history.
During your visit, you will also explore the charming town of Trakai. Walk along Karaimų Street, lined with traditional wooden houses, and discover the unique culture and heritage of the Karaite community, which remains an important part of the town’s identity.
