Travel into one of Norway's most celebrated glacier landscapes on an excursion to Briksdalsbreen, a spectacular outlet glacier of Jostedalsbreen, mainland Europe's largest glacier. Combining a scenic drive, a ride aboard the iconic Troll Cars and a short walk to the glacier viewpoint, this excursion offers an accessible way to experience the grandeur of Jostedalsbreen National Park.
After departing Olden, you will travel through the beautiful Oldedalen valley, where towering mountains, rushing rivers and waterfalls create a dramatic backdrop as the route follows the valley deep into glacier country.
At Briksdal, the adventure continues aboard the famous Troll Cars, open-top vehicles that carry you further into the valley while local guides share stories about the area's history, geology and glacier heritage.
The Troll Cars bring you close to the glacier, where a well-maintained path leads the final 700 metres to viewpoints overlooking Briksdalsbreen. Here you will have time to explore, take photographs and appreciate the scale of this remarkable natural wonder.
After returning by Troll Car, there is some free time at Briksdalsbre Fjellstove to relax before the return journey to Olden.
