Drive through the beautiful scenery and get to know some moose before heading to the Svartisen Glacier. This excursion reveals why Norway’s second largest glacier has been drawing tourists for over a century.
In Ørnes, you will board a bus which takes you on a guided tour through beautiful scenery to the small village of Holandsvik. There you will participate on a 10-minute boat ride across the fjord. Upon arrival at Svartisen, you have the possibility to visit a moose farm and get close to Europe’s largest land animal. The guide will take you on a tour where you will get a chance to get close and maybe even feed the moose. At the Svartisen Tourist Center, you can admire the beauty of this enigmatic ice landscape while enjoying a warm drink and the center’s buffet of delicious cakes. Afterwards, you continue your journey along the beautiful coast of Helgeland back to Bodø. On the way, you will also pass Saltstraumen, which is where the world’s strongest tidal current is located.
