Combine one of Norway’s most spectacular cable car journeys with an active mountain experience high above Nordfjord. This excursion takes you from fjord level to the summit of Mount Hoven, where a guided hike through dramatic mountain landscapes awaits.
After a short transfer from Olden, you will board the Loen Skylift and ascend to Mount Hoven, located 1,011 metres above sea level. In just a few minutes, the scenery transforms from lush valleys and shimmering fjord waters to an impressive mountain landscape.
At the summit, you will meet your guide and begin a scenic hike towards Skredfjellet. The route follows well-maintained gravel paths through open mountain terrain, with a few short and steeper sections along the way. No previous hiking experience is required, although a good level of fitness is recommended.
As you gain elevation, enjoy spectacular panoramic views across Nordfjord and the surrounding landscapes. From the mountain ridge, you can admire the Sunnmøre Alps to the north, Mount Skåla to the east and the glacier-fringed landscapes of Oldedalen to the south.
Early in the season, parts of the trail may still be covered in snow. When necessary, snowshoes and poles will be provided, offering a unique opportunity to experience the Norwegian mountains in spring.
After the hike, there will be time to relax and enjoy the spectacular surroundings near Hoven restaurant before descending by cable car and returning to Olden.
