2: Blådalen Scenic Tour

Leave the fjord behind and venture into the spectacular mountain landscapes of Blådalen, known as the “Blue Valley”. This scenic journey reveals a very different side of Hardanger, with rugged peaks, turquoise lakes, open plateaus and vast wilderness.

Travelling by coach, you will climb high above the fjord while your guide introduces you to the region’s geology, mountain farming traditions, wildlife and the important role of hydropower in shaping modern Norway.

Along the way, several scenic stops offer opportunities to take photographs and admire the dramatic surroundings. You’ll also visit a traditional mountain lodge, where you can enjoy coffee or tea with waffles, jam and Norwegian flatbread served with brown cheese.
