Our Nordic & Baltic tour packages typically begin in major cities – such as Copenhagen, Stockholm, Reykjavik, Helsinki, Rovaniemi, Oslo, Bergen, Tromsø, Tallinn or Riga. These cities have well-connected international airports and local transportation networks.
The best way to get to the Nordic countries (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland) is by flying into a major hub like Oslo (OSL), Stockholm (ARN), Copenhagen (CPH), Helsinki (HEL) or Reykjavik (KEF). Other cities throughout the Nordics also have international flight connections.
Direct flights to the Nordics are available from many international cities.
Please be aware that certain airlines offer cheaper flights to more remote airports (different from the main city airports), even though the destinations may be advertised as ‘Oslo’, ‘Stockholm’, etc. These airports are situated considerably further away from the cities, with fewer connecting transport options. If you are not travelling through the main airport, please let us know and we will advise you on how to best get to the city centre.
Ferries from Denmark and Germany are excellent alternatives, and extensive rail networks connect the region to Europe.
The best way to get to the Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) is by flying into a major hub like Tallinn (TLL), Riga (RIX) or Vilnius (VNO).
Ferries connect the region to Sweden, Finland and Germany.
Flights are not included in our tour packages. Our customers come from all over the world, and this gives you the freedom to choose any departure based on your own requirements (price, departure time, preferred airline company, etc.).
We recommend comparing flights at e.g. https://skyscanner.net/ and booking tickets directly with the airline.
Our expertise lies in the comprehensive local travel experience in our Nordic and Baltic destinations – from accommodation to extensive transport knowledge to sightseeing, cultural experiences and more. Furthermore, we do not have an IATA licence. Today, most airlines encourage direct booking, which allows you to benefit directly from discounts and membership offers.
While it is a good idea to do some research on flight connections and costs before you submit a booking request, we strongly recommend waiting to book tickets until after you have received the official tour confirmation.
Although we have several pre-booked rooms at many hotels throughout the year, availability is never guaranteed. We strive to send the tour confirmation within 2 business days of receiving your booking request.
It is recommended that you allow good time between connecting flights. Heavy snowfall, ice or similar may cause delays. It might also be a good idea to include an extra hotel overnight before the start of the tour if the first overnight in the tour package involves unique accommodation (e.g. an ice hotel stay). This way you avoid missing the experience in case of major delays.
