Northern Lights Snowshoe hike in Kilpisjärvi

Step into the heart of Arctic wilderness and experience the serenity of a winter night on a guided snowshoe hike in Kilpisjärvi. Surrounded by untouched snow and majestic fells, this peaceful evening excursion offers a unique opportunity to witness the Northern Lights.

Kilpisjärvi is one of the best places in Finland for Northern Lights viewing, thanks to its clear skies and high frequency of aurora activity. As you move through the silent landscape on snowshoes, your guide will lead you to open areas with the best possible views of the sky. With a bit of luck, you will see the aurora borealis ripple across the stars in vibrant shades of green, violet, and pink.

Along the way, your guide will share stories about the local nature and Sámi culture, adding depth to the experience. A warm drink and light snack will be served during a break under the stars - the perfect moment to simply take in the stillness of the Arctic night.
