This experience combines local cuisine, live Norwegian folk music, and stories from the Flåm region. Enjoy a 3-course guided tasting menu followed by traditional folk music in a restored barn at Flåm Fjord Farm, with stunning fjord views.
Your host welcomes you to the fjord farm, where you will be guided through local food traditions and stories in a beautifully restored barn overlooking the fjord. Once seated, your culinary journey begins.
The experience starts with a tasting platter that captures the flavours of Norway, from sea to mountain, on a single board. Enjoy smoked herring from the fjords, cured venison from the highlands, coppa ham, and locally produced goat cheeses, all paired with apple jam from sheltered fjord orchards. This first course reflects the Norwegian tradition of using what nature provides, and is served with apple juice from local orchards.
Next, you will be served lapskaus, a hearty and traditional Norwegian stew. Made with lamb, root vegetables, and garden greens, this dish has been a staple of Norwegian home cooking for generations. It is accompanied by flatbread, a true local classic. The food experience concludes with a seasonal dessert, served with tea or coffee.
Afterwards, enjoy an intimate concert featuring traditional Norwegian tunes performed by local musicians, who also share fascinating stories about folklore, cultural traditions, and the history of the instruments. Each month features a new line up of artists performing at the Fjord Farm.
The Fjord Farm is open daily, and entrance is free of charge. Here you can take a stroll through the apple garden with spectacular views of the Aurlandsfjord, visit the farm shop which features a selection of local products, sip coffee with a slice of homemade cake at the cosy garden café or say hello to the friendly farm animals.
