The Igloo Rooms at the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel are built entirely from snow and large blocks of ice, offering a unique Arctic experience. Each room features a large ice bed with an insulated mattress and soft reindeer hides to keep you warm and comfortable throughout the night. There is a heated service building next door with a restaurant and bathroom facilities.
Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel is located in idyllic surroundings on the banks of the Alta River. It was built for the first time in 1999; since then, it is built up again each year.
The Igloo Hotel measures approx. 2000 square metres and the entire exterior and interior is made of snow and ice; the rooms, the beds, even the glasses in the ice bar. Apart from its 25 bedrooms, the Igloo Hotel houses 5 suites, an ice-bar and several lounges. The hotel is decorated with ice sculptures which are exquisite works of art. Each year, the hotel features a different theme from the Arctic region.
The temperature inside the hotel is constant between -4 and -7 degrees. Thanks to reindeer hides on the beds and the thick sleeping bags that can stand -30 degrees, you will stay nice and warm during the night.
