Arctic Circle Wilderness Lodge - Panorama Hut

Nestled in the forest on the shoreline of River Raudanjoki close to Rovaniemi, the Panorama Huts at the Arctic Circle Wilderness Lodge are inspired by nature’s own building materials, representing a modern Lappish accommodation with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the arctic forest.

The Arctic Circle Wilderness Lodge is surrounded by beautiful rapids of River Raudanjoki, lush shoreline forest and pristine wild nature and is an ideal place for guests wishing to stay in a peaceful area close to Rovaniemi. The Lodge area consists of the main building where you will find the restaurant and the Moose Bar & Lounge, which also serves as the reception, as well as different types of accommodation. You are only a 15-minute drive (18 kilometers) from Rovaniemi International airport, and you reach central Rovaniemi in 20 minutes (24 kilometers) by car. A free shuttle service is provided between Arctic Circle Wilderness Resort - Santa Claus Village - Rovaniemi city centre from December to March, from approximately 8 am until 10 pm. 

The modern Panorama Design Huts are made from local pine wood and represent modern Lappish architecture. Each cabin (16,5 m2) has a full-size window with views to the beautiful wilderness forest. The hut is suitable for 2 persons, with 1 extra bed available. Private toilet and bathroom facilities.

The cosy onsite restaurant invites you to step in and enjoy delicious food in a warm atmosphere. The impressive logs used as the building material, tasty meals with local ingredients and a warm fireplace make you feel right at home in Lapland. Within easy walking distance from the Lodge you can also find the intimate wooden teepee hut called Jaarankota located on the Raudanjoki River island. In Jaarankota they serve unique wilderness meals with guests dining around a large open fireplace.

At the Lodge you can simply relax and breathe in the fresh air, try the saunas, or take the opportunity to indulge in several exciting winter activities such as dog sledding, reindeer sledding and snowmobile tours. The Lodge, which is called “Vaattunki” in Finnish, is a gateway for the Arctic Circle Hiking Area. You can discover the marked hiking trails surrounded by the Lodge, and the diverse network offers something for every taste from short strolls to longer hikes. You can rent snowshoes or forest skis to make your day outdoors even more interesting. The private island next to the resort is the best place to see Northern lights, as the Wilderness resort has no light pollution from the city. 

A romantic atmosphere, the sounds of silence and good cuisine make the Lodge a perfect holiday location for those who want to enjoy pure nature and hunt for the Northern Lights not too far from Rovaniemi center.
